Despite losing the New Patriotic Party's (NPP's) parliamentary primaries, Dr. Freda Prempeh, the Member of Parliament for Tano North in the Ahafo Region, remains resolute in her commitment to improving water supply for her constituents in 2024.
Inaugurating 10 boreholes she funded in various communities in the constituency, Dr Prempeh reiterated her promise to achieve 100 per cent water coverage to provide potable drinking water for the people. Despite her defeat in the primaries to Dr. Gideon Boako, she remains undeterred in her efforts to address the pressing needs of her constituents.
Dr. Prempeh's dedication to her constituency is evident in her track record, with the inauguration of these 10 mechanized boreholes being part of nearly 200 boreholes she has constructed in the constituency. These boreholes, equipped with hand pumps, are strategically located in communities such as Santaase, Binkyem, Twewaaho Yamfo Assin, Duayaw-Nkwanta Zongo, Assen, Baffokrom, and Campso.
Addressing residents at separate durbars in the beneficiary communities, Dr. Prempeh assured them of her commitment to completing all ongoing development projects in the area, including infrastructure, health facilities, and educational facilities. Despite her defeat, she remains optimistic about the NPP's prospects in the 2024 Presidential and Parliamentary elections.
The residents expressed their gratitude to Dr. Prempeh for her efforts in improving water supply in their communities, noting the significant impact it has had on their daily lives. Previously, they had to share water sources with animals or travel long distances to fetch water, but now, they have access to clean and safe water closer to home.
Dr. Prempeh's dedication to her constituents and her unwavering commitment to their well-being demonstrate her strong leadership and advocacy for development in the Tano North constituency.
