Chef Abdul-Razak Failatu has completed a culinary marathon, potentially securing a Guinness World Record for the longest cooking spree after an impressive 227 hours.
Surpassing the existing record of 119 hours and 57 minutes held by Irish Chef Alan Fisher, Chef Failatu awaits official confirmation from Guinness World Records.
The ambitious journey began on January 1, 2024, with Chef Failatu initially aiming to finish on January 5th.
However, she extended the marathon to January 10th, fueled by tenacity and kitchen prowess.
Throughout the ten-day ordeal, Chef Failatu delighted patrons with diverse local and continental dishes, earning widespread admiration.
Tamale, the Northern Regional capital, became a bustling centre of support for Chef Failatu, with dignitaries, celebrities, and influential figures across Ghana rallying behind her.
Notable attendees included Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, Finance Ministry's Dr Mohammed Amin Adam, Chief of Staff Madam Akosua Frema Osei Opare, former First Lady Lordina Mahama, and former Minority Leader Haruna Iddrisu.
