The Electoral Commission (EC) has declared that the Ejisu by-election will take place on Tuesday, April 30. This announcement was made during an Inter-Party Advisory Committee meeting held recently.
The by-election has been prompted by the unfortunate passing of the former Member of Parliament (MP) and Deputy Finance Minister, John Kumah, whose demise was reported on March 07.
Both the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), which holds the seat, and the main opposition party, the National Democratic Congress (NDC), have intensified their campaigns in preparation for the upcoming election.
In anticipation of the by-election, the NPP has sanctioned a primary involving nine candidates to select a representative for the election.
