The 7th Ghana CEO Summit and Expo have been launched with a call for the government to work with relevant stakeholders to restore Ghana's economy and achieve sustainable economic sovereignty.
The theme for the summit is “Economic Sovereignty, Sustainable Corporate Governance, Digital Industrial Transformation: New Paths for Growth and Prosperity. A Private-Public Sector CEO Dialogue & Learning”.
Ernest De-Graft Egyir, Founder and Chief Executive Officer, believes that the summit will offer concrete solutions and advocate for best growth-oriented practices.
Mr Egyir has also stated that there is a lack of national economic sovereignty which has caused much harm in recent economic crises, and Ghana's path through disruptions, from the pandemic to the conflict in Ukraine, remains uncertain. He added that the event in the recent past has pushed economic sovereignty to the fore and that the quest for economic sovereignty is becoming central to public policy across the continent.
The call to action for the summit is for the government of Ghana to work together with relevant stakeholders to restore Ghana's economy and achieve sustainable economic sovereignty.
The summit will adopt a dynamic approach to deliver value to its stakeholders, including CEO panel discussions, plenaries, business cases, masterclasses, and expert insights with a cohort of speakers, panellists, and experts.
The summit will be climaxed by a Ghana CEO Excellence Awards – Honours session.
The CEO Excellence Award-Honors aspect of the summit recognizes, celebrates, and profiles the achievements of CEOs and businesses. The award celebrates business success, innovation, leadership, and contribution to the economy.
The Managing Country Partner of Deloitte Ghana, Daniel Kwadwo Owusu, has stated that Deloitte Ghana is committed to sharing insights and best practices that can help Ghana and the broader region navigate these complex issues and achieve growth objectives.
The 7th edition of the Ghana CEO summit will take place at Kempinski Hotel Gold Coast City in Accra on Monday, May 22, 2023, from 9 am to 5 pm.
Margins Group CEO, Moses Kwesi Baiden Junior, believes that the topic for this year's event, economic sovereignty, is important, especially considering the growing interdependence of the world's economies, cultures, and populations fostered by cross-border trade in goods, people, and technology.
He added that to resolve a national crisis, there must be collaboration across sectors, which is what this year's CEO summit aims to do – facilitate collaborative solutions.
