The youth of Dispensational Gospel Mission (DGM) Church in Essaman, Sekondi-Takoradi Metropolis, orchestrated a vibrant Easter celebration through a series of fun games involving various churches from Essaman and Nketsiakrom communities.
Under the theme “Impacting lives amidst a dynamic world,” the competition brought together participants from Assemblies of God-Essaman, The Church of Pentecost-Essaman, The Methodist Church, and DGM. The event featured volleyball, lime-on-spoon, sack racing, and a football gala, drawing hundreds of enthusiastic spectators from the participating churches and the wider community.
The games commenced with a spirited volleyball competition between Methodist Church and Assemblies of God, with Methodist emerging victorious in the first set. Subsequently, The Church of Pentecost and DGM engaged in a thrilling volleyball match, ultimately resulting in a win for DGM.
In the sack racing and lime-on-spoon events, Assemblies of God showcased their prowess by securing first place, followed by The Church of Pentecost in second and DGM in third, while Methodist claimed the last position.
The football gala concluded the festivities, with Methodist emerging as the champions, followed by Assemblies of God in second place, The Church of Pentecost in third, and DGM in fourth.
Mr. Joel Takyi, the DGM Youth President, emphasized the importance of social interaction among Christians beyond spiritual growth. He praised all participating churches for their involvement and urged them to maintain unity to further the Kingdom of God's work.
Mr. Christian Mensah, a youth leader from The Church of Pentecost, encouraged non-believers to embrace Christianity and seek salvation during Easter, commemorating the crucifixion and resurrection of Jesus Christ.
The Easter fun games at Essaman not only fostered a sense of camaraderie among church members but also promoted unity and fellowship within the community, embodying the spirit of Easter and the message of love and togetherness.
