No NDC seat is safe in 2028 -Afenyo-Markin declares

Alexander Afenyo-Markin, the Minority Leader in Parliament, has declared that the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) is determined to contest and win seats currently held by the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the 2028 general elections.

Speaking in a recent political engagement, Afenyo-Markin stated that the NPP would not take any constituency for granted, insisting that every NDC-held seat will be vigorously contested.

According to him, the party is already strategizing and reorganising at the grassroots level to strengthen its chances ahead of the next election cycle. He emphasised the need for unity within the party and a renewed focus on performance, messaging, and voter engagement.

Afenyo-Markin argued that political dominance is never guaranteed, noting that electoral victories depend on consistent effort and the ability to connect with voters’ concerns. He added that the NPP aims to present itself as a viable alternative capable of winning back parliamentary seats across the country.

His comments signal an early start to political positioning ahead of the 2028 general elections, with both major parties expected to intensify mobilisation and internal restructuring in the coming years.

The statement is also likely to heighten political competition between the NPP and the NDC, as both parties prepare for what is expected to be another closely contested electoral battle.
