Scores of protesters have gathered at Obra Spot in Accra for the #OccupyBoG demonstration, demanding the resignation of the Governor of the Bank of Ghana, Dr. Ernest Addison, and his deputies.
The protest has been organised by the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Minority in Parliament, pressure group Arise Ghana, and other civil society groups.

The demonstrators accuse the Bank of Ghana governor of mismanaging the country’s central bank and contributing to its financial difficulties.
They also allege that the Bank engaged in reckless spending, citing the construction of the new $250 million Bank of Ghana headquarters as one of their key grievances.
The protesters are expected to march from Obra Spot through Adabraka, the Ridge Roundabout, the National Theatre traffic light, the High Court Complex traffic light, and Atta Mills High Street before making a U-turn at the National Lottery traffic light and concluding the demonstration at Independence Square.
Several Members of Parliament have joined the protest, including the MP for Madina, Francis-Xavier Sosu; the MP for North Tongu, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa; and the MP for Lawra, Bede Ziedeng.
