Vice President Dr Bawumia commended for purchasing voice-restoring medication for Afua Asantewaa

, Ghana – Afua Asantewaa O. Aduonum, who recently attempted to break the for the longest sing-a-thon, has expressed gratitude to Vice President Dr. for his supportive gesture.

Dr. Bawumia reportedly purchased a voice-restoring drug for Afua after her record-breaking attempt.

To surpass the existing record of 105 hours set by an Indian in 2012, Afua Asantewaa embarked on a five-day singing marathon that commenced at midnight on Sunday, December 24 and concluded at 7:00 am on December 29.

At the end of her marathon, Afua had successfully sung for an impressive five days, six hours, and 55 minutes.

Despite facing numerous challenges both on and off the stage during her marathon, Afua's determination garnered praise from many, earning her admiration across various sectors, including the corporate world.

However, along the way, she encountered difficulties that led to the loss of her voice. Vice President Dr stepped in by ordering a drug to restore her voice during the record attempt. Unfortunately, the drug arrived after Afua had already completed the marathon.

In response to the Vice President's supportive gesture, Afua took to to express her gratitude, stating:

“Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia H.E. the Vice president of Ghana, ordered a drug to restore my lost voice during my record attempt, unfortunately, it arrived after I ended at 126 hours 52mins. This is very humbling and I appreciate this gesture.”
