Ghana Airports Company Limited (GACL) wishes to inform the general public of a directive issued by the Ghana Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) regarding security screening procedures at all airports across the country. Effective immediately, all individuals, including passengers, are required to remove their shoes at security screening points.
This directive aligns with the GCAA's responsibility to enforce security measures aimed at protecting air transport, as well as ensuring the safety of passengers and property. Section 17.4.5(1) of the Ghana Civil Aviation (Aviation Security) Directives stipulates that individuals must undergo screening of their person, carry-on baggage, goods, or other articles before entering sterile or security-restricted areas.
GACL urges the cooperation of the general public to facilitate smooth and efficient security screening processes at all airports. By adhering to these measures, passengers and airport users contribute to maintaining a safe and secure environment for air travel.
