In a recent election for the Keri South Electoral Area in the Nkwanta South Municipality of the Oti Region, Mrs. Juliana Awasan emerged victorious, securing 947 votes against her opponent's 783.
As the sole female representative in the Ninth Assembly of Nkwanta South, Mrs. Awasan has pledged to actively engage women to enhance their presence in local governance for more effective nation-building.
In an interview with the Ghana News Agency following her election triumph, Mrs. Awasan emphasized the crucial role of women in local governance, highlighting its significance in the overall development of the nation.
She urged fellow women to actively participate in grassroots governance, viewing it as a pathway to contribute significantly to the nation's progress.
Expressing gratitude to the electorates for their support, Mrs. Awasan promised to live up to their expectations, assuring them, “I will not disappoint you.”
