The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has urged the Electoral Commission (EC) to promptly convene an emergency Inter-Party Advisory Committee (IPAC) meeting to address concerns regarding the purported scarcity of Biometric Verification Devices (BVDs) and the reported disappearance of one component of Biometric Verification registration kits.
In a letter signed by its General Secretary, Fifi Fiavi Kwetey, the NDC expressed worry over these issues, stating that they pose a serious threat to free, fair, and transparent elections in the upcoming December polls. The party emphasized the need for all political parties to come together to discuss these crucial matters and reach a consensus on how to ensure the integrity of the electoral process.
The NDC highlighted its expectation that the EC, according to its calendar, should have already called for an IPAC meeting to address these concerns. As such, the party called for an immediate convening of the IPAC to enable thorough discussions and the formulation of strategies to promote the credibility of the electoral process.
