Ghanaian actress and fashion ambassador, Martha Ankomah, has initiated legal proceedings against fellow actor Kwadwo Nkansah, widely known as Lil Win, over defamatory remarks made by the latter. The legal action comes in response to Lil Win's allegations that Martha expressed disdain towards Kumawood actors, claiming she refused to work with them due to their perceived lack of quality storylines.
Lil Win further criticized Martha for her role as a GTP Ambassador, implying that she spoke disparagingly despite her association with the brand. The actor questioned the choice of Martha Ankomah as a brand ambassador for GTP, and in a public statement, he made derogatory remarks about her status in the industry.
In light of these allegations, Martha Ankomah has filed a writ of summons at the High Court in Accra, seeking redress for the false statements made by Lil Win. The writ instructs Lil Win to appear in court within eight days to respond to the allegations.
Martha Ankomah strongly denies the accusations, emphasizing her dedication to professionalism and integrity within the Ghanaian film industry. She contends that baseless claims not only tarnish her reputation but also undermine the collaborative spirit necessary for the growth of the entertainment sector.
Among other demands, Martha Ankomah is seeking GH₵5 million in damages.
