Members of the Kumasi Traditional Council (KTC) have voiced their disappointment over the treatment they received during a visit to the Jubilee House in Accra, expressing regret for the trip due to what they perceive as disrespect from the security detail at the Presidency.
Nana Kofi-Wusu, Otumfuo's respected linguist, shared these sentiments during a meeting with New Patriotic Party (NPP) officials, including General Secretary Justin Koduah Frimpong and National Organizer Henry Nana Boakye, following summons from the Palace over alleged disparaging comments made by the Ashanti regional chairman of the party.
Nana Kofi-Wusu emphasized the importance of respect in political activities, cautioning against actions that could undermine the revered Chieftaincy institution.
He recounted the disrespectful treatment they encountered at the Jubilee House during their visit, contrasting it with the hospitality extended to NPP officials during their visits to Manhyia.
He urged the NPP delegation to address internal issues and avoid actions that could damage the relationship between Manhyia and the party.
Stressing the need to eliminate divisive elements within the party, he advised them to prioritize unity and peace.
The Kumasi Traditional Council's remarks underscore the significance of mutual respect and collaboration between traditional authorities and political institutions in Ghana.
