The Ghana Table Tennis Association (GTTA), in partnership with the International Table Tennis Federation (ITTF) and Olympic Solidarity, is set to host its second ITTF Level 1 coaching course and training program in preparation for Accra 2023.
Scheduled to occur at the University of Ghana Sports Directorate from Friday, January 19, to Tuesday, January 23, the program aims to equip coaches, referees, and players with the necessary techniques for the upcoming African Games. Over 30 participants from Ghana and Nigeria are expected to undergo the training.
In an interview with GNA Sport, Mr. William Berekorang Asare, the competition manager and course coordinator, assured that all necessary arrangements had been made for the successful execution of the training.
He emphasized that measures were in place to ensure the participants not only learn but also enjoy the process.
“This is the second edition; the first edition was held last year, and all coaches had the distinction,” Mr. Berekorang stated.
The coaching course is scheduled to take place from January 19 to January 23, 2024, while a training program for athletes in preparation for the 13th African Games will follow from January 24 to January 29, 2024.
The program will be supervised by Mr. Mohammed Ameen Mohammed Atoum, an ITTF expert.
