The Minister's visit to the Ashanti Region is part of a nationwide tour aimed at inspecting ongoing road projects following his recent appointment in a ministerial reshuffle by President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo. Notably, the Ashanti Region is the second stop on his tour after reviewing key road projects in the Greater Accra Region.
Highlighting the significance of road infrastructure in the Ashanti Region, Mr. Asenso-Boakye noted that the region has been a major beneficiary of government-led road projects. He assured that additional roads were earmarked for construction to alleviate the challenges faced by residents.

Furthermore, plans are underway to enhance the inner ring road of Kumasi and establish an outer ring road to streamline traffic and improve connectivity for commuters from other regions.
In response, Mr. Osei-Mensah, the Ashanti Regional Minister, urged the Minister to prioritize crucial routes such as the Tafo road to address persistent traffic congestion. He commended the government for releasing funds to contractors, resulting in resumed construction activities after months of suspension.
