As Christians worldwide celebrated Easter, The Very Reverend Isaac Justice Arhin-Yorke, the Bishop's Deputy of Wa-Bolgatanga Mission Diocese of the Methodist Church Ghana, used the occasion to call on Ghanaians to seek God's guidance in selecting credible leaders for the nation in the upcoming December 2024 general election.
Addressing the congregation on the theme “He is Risen,” Very Rev. Arhin-Yorke emphasized the importance of prayer in the electoral process, urging citizens to seek divine direction in choosing leaders who would lead the nation with integrity and competence.
He reminded Christians of their responsibility to maintain peace and civility during the election period, cautioning against actions that could disrupt the peace the nation has enjoyed over the years. Stressing the value of decorum in electoral activities, he urged citizens to approach elections with a sense of responsibility and respect for one another.
The Deputy Bishop underscored the transformative power of the resurrection of Jesus Christ, urging believers to use this power to positively impact society. He called for a society where economic opportunities are accessible to all, without discrimination, echoing Christ's ministry of serving all with fairness and compassion.
Assuring believers of the promise of eternal life through Christ's resurrection, Very Rev. Arhin-Yorke encouraged them to remain steadfast in their faith and service to God. He reminded them of the biblical promise of eternal life for all who believe in Jesus Christ, drawing from John 3:16.
In closing, he urged Christians to adopt innovative and proactive methods to spread the gospel, emphasizing the importance of sharing the message of Christ's resurrection and its transformative power with the world.
Through his Easter message, Very Rev. Arhin-Yorke inspired hope, encouraged responsible citizenship, and reminded believers of the profound significance of Christ's resurrection in their lives and society.
