Prampram, Greater Accra Region — The Kley Abodo family of Prampram has announced that the mortal remains of the late Hon. Enoch Teye Mensah, affectionately known as E.T. Mensah, will arrive in Ghana on Tuesday, October 10, 2023, from South Africa.
Following this, a brief ceremony will be held before his body is conveyed to the morgue.
Hon. E.T. Mensah, who passed away at the age of 77 in South Africa, had been battling ill health for some time. He was a prominent figure in Ghanaian politics, serving as a Member of Parliament for the Ningo-Prampram constituency from January 1997 to January 2017.
During his distinguished career, he also held various ministerial positions, including Minister for Education, Youth and Sports, Employment and Social Welfare, Water Resources, Works, and Housing.
The late statesman was highly regarded for his contributions to the nation’s development and his dedication to public service.
He was also the first National Youth Organizer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and served as the Chief Executive of the Accra Metropolitan Assembly.
In addition to his political career, E.T. Mensah was a loving family man, survived by his wife and seven children.
His passing has left a void in Ghana’s political landscape.
The Kley Abodo family has scheduled the reception of Hon. E.T. Mensah’s remains at the Kotoka International Airport on Tuesday, October 10, 2023, at 9:15 p.m.
While a brief ceremony will be held at that time, further details regarding funeral arrangements will be communicated to the public.
