The Danny List Foundation organized a Junior Golf Clinic in Accra on Sunday, aimed at nurturing young golfing talents in the region. Led by professional golfer Danny List, who hails from the United States, the foundation is dedicated to discovering and developing promising golfers through its golf academy project.
More than 60 young golf enthusiasts participated in the clinic held at the Achimota Golf Driving Range, where they were introduced to the fundamentals of golf. Speaking to GNA Sports, Danny List emphasized that the clinic was part of the foundation's efforts to create opportunities for aspiring young golfers in Ghana.
“Ghana golf has immense talent, but lacks opportunities. The primary goal of this foundation is to provide equal opportunities to golfers here in Ghana, similar to their counterparts in the United States,” List explained.
He further disclosed that the foundation had secured land for the establishment of a state-of-the-art golf academy, the first of its kind in West Africa. The academy aims to offer free access to golf training, facilities, and equipment, including a gym, to support the development of aspiring golfers.
“We want to create an environment where kids can excel in golf,” List added, highlighting the foundation's commitment to fostering success in the sport.
Madam Angela List, co-founder of the foundation, expressed delight in witnessing the enthusiasm of young participants eager to learn the sport. She emphasized that the academy would provide a platform for young golfers to showcase their talents on a global scale.
The Danny List Foundation, launched last year, continues to make strides in its mission to promote and develop golfing talent in Ghana.
