Nana Asare Baffour Tutu II, Chief of Jinijini, has expressed gratitude to the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Government for its remarkable achievements in various sectors, including education, health, agriculture, and road infrastructure.
Speaking at a durbar in Jinijini during a sod-cutting ceremony for the commencement of a 120-kilometre asphaltic overlay project on the Sunyani to Berekum and Sampa roads, Nana Tutu II commended the government's successful implementation of the Free Senior High School (SHS) education program. He noted that the policy had benefited every household across the country, emphasizing that no previous administration had made such significant strides in education.
The Chief highlighted the importance of the asphaltic overlay project, which has a budget of 125 million dollars and is expected to be completed within 24 months under a fixed-term contract. He outlined the scope of work, which includes the construction of drainage structures, laying of crushed rock base material, application of asphalt binder and wearing courses, and installation of road signs.
Nana Tutu II also praised the government's agricultural initiatives, particularly the Planting for Food and Jobs and Planting for Jobs and Export programs, which have provided farmers with free cashew, coconut seedlings, and other plant seeds. Additionally, he acknowledged the significant impact of the government's Agenda 111 initiative on the health sector, with Jinijini being a notable beneficiary.
Furthermore, the Chief underscored the government's commitment to improving the road sector, citing the upgrading of Botokrom to Nkyenkyeman road and Jinijini town roads as examples. He emphasized the benefits of the Berekum to Sampa Road project in alleviating the stress of commuters using that route.
Nana Tutu II urged the electorate in the area to show appreciation for the government's positive policies and initiatives by voting for the NPP in the upcoming December 2024 presidential and parliamentary elections.
Mr. Francis Asenso-Boakye, the Minister of Roads and Highways, expressed his satisfaction with the road inspection conducted in the region during an interview with the media at Wenchi. He announced plans to construct the main road from Sunyani to Wa, ensuring the upgrading of all roads in the area.
