Saddick Adams, the Head of Sports at Angel Broadcasting Network, has addressed rumors regarding his alleged discord with Ghana Football Association (GFA) President, Kurt Okraku. Speaking on Metro TV's One On One talk show hosted by Bridget Otoo, Adams revealed that he was offered a position within Kurt Okraku's administration, which he ultimately declined.
According to Adams, Kurt Okraku approached him with an offer to serve as Deputy Communications Director. However, Adams felt psychologically unprepared to accept the position, citing the transitional period following Nyantakyi's era and the Normalisation Committee, which he had criticized. Despite declining the offer, Adams emphasized that his relationship with Kurt Okraku remains strong, likening it to that of brothers.
Adams recounted instances of Okraku visiting him late at night before assuming his current role, highlighting their close bond. He also mentioned regular interactions and monthly visits to Okraku's office as evidence of their continued camaraderie.
Meanwhile, ahead of the Save Ghana Football Demonstration, Adams and his colleague Veronica Commey expressed criticism toward major Ghanaian football stakeholders. Adams took to social media to question the decision to sanction a competitive match between Premier League clubs on a substandard playing surface at the Aliu Mahama Stadium. He expressed concern for the quality of the football product and called attention to the need for better standards.
Commey, on the other hand, raised questions about the allocation of financial rewards to individuals associated with Ghana's national men's football team. She questioned the decision to grant significant financial incentives to certain individuals for their involvement with the national team, highlighting discrepancies and raising broader concerns about fiscal management within Ghanaian football.
In summary, while Saddick Adams clarified his relationship with Kurt Okraku and dismissed rumors of hostility, both he and Veronica Commey raised important criticisms regarding the state of Ghanaian football and the actions of its key stakeholders, calling for accountability and improvements in various areas.
