The Protect Our Future Foundation (POFF), an NGO based in Bolgatanga, has extended its annual outreach by donating clothes and food items to approximately 300 widows and single mothers in Adaboya, a community in the Bongo District of the Upper East Region.
As part of their holistic approach, the NGO organized additional activities during the outreach, including training sessions in soap making and health screening, with a focus on cervical cancer awareness.
Miss Susana Anutiga Nablise, the Founder of POFF, emphasized the foundation's commitment to prioritizing women's health. She stated, “The health of women is a priority for us, and that's why we've included initiatives like health screenings in our outreach.”
The community warmly welcomed the outreach, particularly appreciating the health screening session. Miss Nablise noted, “The reception from the community indicates the timeliness of our outreach, especially the health screening.”
During the event, it was observed that two women were facing severe health conditions. The foundation took prompt action by transporting them to a CHPS compound at Bongo for medical attention. Subsequently, they were admitted for further care.
