Alhassan Azumah, Deputy Registrar of Bolgatanga Technical University (BTU), was shot dead by unknown gunmen on Wednesday evening.
The incident occurred around 7 pm outside his residence in Sokabisi, a suburb of Bolgatanga.
Mr. Azumah, who had recently been promoted to the position of Deputy Registrar, was walking around his residence when two assailants on a motorbike shot him multiple times. The attackers swiftly fled the scene after the shooting.
The shocking incident has left the university community in mourning. The motive behind the attack remains unknown, and investigations are underway to apprehend the perpetrators.
The staff and students of BTU are grappling with the tragic loss of Mr. Azumah, who had been in his new role for about two months.
