Nkwanta South police re-arrests two escapees out of nine

The Divisional Police Station in Region has re-arrested two out of the nine suspects who escaped from the cells on April 4, 2023.

The two suspects, Mohammed Kadir, a robbery suspect, and Stephen Asamoah, who is standing trial for , were arrested at a hideout in Keri, a community in on April 6, 2023.

According to a police source, three out of the nine escapees have been re-arrested, while one of them, Danjumah Afu, who attempted suicide by drinking bleach, is currently receiving treatment at the hospital.

The suspects would be arraigned before the Jasikan Circuit Court on April 13, 2023.

The Nkwanta South Police are still searching for the remaining six suspects who escaped.

The Police are, however, appealing to the public to assist with information that would lead to the arrest of the remaining suspects still on the run.
