Nigerian goalkeeper Chiamaka Nnadozie has etched her name in the history books by securing the prestigious title of the first-ever CAF Women's Goalkeeper of the Year.
The Paris FC captain's outstanding performance and jaw-dropping saves earned her this groundbreaking accolade at the glittering CAF Awards ceremony held in Marrakech on Monday night.
Nnadozie faced stiff competition from fellow nominees Khadija Er-Rmichi of Morocco and Andile Dlamini of South Africa.
However, her remarkable contributions both on the international stage and with Paris FC set her apart for this historic prize.
The 25-year-old shot-stopper showcased her exceptional skills during the Women's World Cup this year.
Notably, she delivered a player-of-the-match performance in Nigeria's opener against Canada, making crucial saves, including a penalty stop, and numerous gravity-defying interventions that left spectators in awe.
Beyond her international heroics, Nnadozie played a pivotal role in Paris FC's success during the season.
With six clean sheets to her name, she contributed significantly to the team's qualification for the Women's Champions League.
