International Women’s Day is not about competing with men 

Mrs. Mawuena Adzo Trebarh, CEO of Inspire Africa Consult, emphasized that International Women's Day (IWD) is not a competition between men and women but an opportunity for collaboration. Speaking at the Planned Parenthood Association of Ghana (PPAG)'s International Women's Day Dialogue in , themed ‘Invest in women: Accelerate growth,' Mrs. Trebarh urged for continuous efforts beyond a single day, stressing the importance of working together for gender equality and societal progress.

Mrs. Trebarh highlighted the role of strong men in supporting women and encouraged women to use their talents and gifts to mentor young girls. She advocated for celebrating women's achievements rather than focusing solely on their challenges.

Addressing the impact of , Mrs. Trebarh called for a national conversation and continuous regulation of the media space to protect young men from self-destruction and ensure positive digital engagement.

Mr. Emmanuel Okanta Akoto, Director of Programmes and Service Delivery at PPAG, echoed the theme's importance, emphasizing that is not only imperative but also a strategic necessity. He highlighted the ripple effect of investing in women, stating that it fosters economic growth, business success, and community prosperity.

Mr. Akoto urged society to create environments that actively invest in the development and progress of women, breaking down barriers and embracing a future where every woman can contribute to her full potential.

Madam Martha Coffie, Chairperson on Gender at the , emphasized the need to overcome stereotypes and biases to empower women. She stressed the importance of psychological empowerment for women to realize their potential and encouraged young girls and women not to give up on their dreams.

Naa Amerley Croffie, a legal practitioner, highlighted the transformative impact of investing in women on society. She underscored the importance of expanding women's visions as part of empowering them, emphasizing the responsibility to invest in future generations.
