Ambassador Agyeman also referenced the Visa Waiver Agreement signed between Ghana and Jamaica in June 2019, describing it as an important step toward facilitating closer interaction between citizens of both countries.

He further stressed the need to promote stronger private sector cooperation to support economic growth and sustainable development.

On her part, Ambassador Symone Betton Nayo recalled that diplomatic relations between Ghana and Jamaica date back to 1958 and said the reconvening of the PJCC demonstrates a renewed commitment to strengthening bilateral ties based on mutual respect, shared heritage and democratic values.
