NTC reschedules 2026 Ghana teacher licensure examination to March 24

The National Teaching Council (NTC) has officially rescheduled the commencement date for the 2026 Ghana Teacher Licensure Examination (GTLE), shifting it from Monday, March 23 to Tuesday, March 24, 2026.

According to the Council, the adjustment has been necessitated by the statutory public holiday observed on March 23. The NTC emphasized that while the start date has changed, all other arrangements, including examination structure and logistics, remain intact.

Under the revised timetable, candidates will sit for the General Professional Knowledge paper on Tuesday, March 24, followed by Grade-Level Specialism Pedagogy on Wednesday, March 25. The final paper,Multiple Subjects Content or Single Subject Specialism, will be written on Thursday, March 26.

The Council has urged all candidates to take note of the new schedule and comply accordingly to avoid any disruptions. It also reassured stakeholders that adequate measures remain in place to ensure a smooth and credible examination process.

The GTLE continues to serve as a critical certification requirement for teachers in Ghana, forming part of broader efforts to uphold professional standards and improve the quality of education nationwide.

While expressing regret over any inconvenience caused, the NTC called for cooperation from candidates and stakeholders, encouraging them to seek further clarification through its official communication channels where necessary.
