Ghana Tertiary Education Commission warns against unaccredited programs: Ghana News

The (GTEC) is cautioning students against pursuing unaccredited programs at various in the country.

The commission warns that those who do so may face denial of employment in government institutions and will not be allowed to undergo their national service.

Speaking in after a meeting with Vice Chancellors of technical , Prof. Ahmed Abdulai Jinapor, the Director-General of GTEC, emphasized the importance of ensuring that all schools offer only accredited courses.

“We are working with the National Service Secretariat to ensure that graduates from such institutions do not undergo national service.

If you happen to have sourced a program from such institutions that are not accredited, you will not be placed on national service.

Programs that are not accredited and are sourced by graduates may not be given employment,” Prof. Jinapor stated.

He further mentioned that going forward, tertiary institutions would not be accredited to offer courses outside their niche areas.
