The Amamorley Methodist 2 Basic School has won the Ga North National Commission for Civic Education (NCCE) 1992 Constitution schools quiz, securing 44 points. Methodist 1 Basic School followed closely with 43 points, while Peace Anchor Academy placed third with 40 points.
The contest formed part of activities marking this year’s Constitution Week celebrations aimed at deepening students’ knowledge and understanding of the 1992 Constitution. Madam Mabel Munufie, Ga North NCCE Municipal Director, said civic education plays a vital role in instilling patriotism, strengthening national values, and encouraging active citizenship.

She explained that the quiz covered areas such as fundamental human rights and freedoms, the powers of the arms of government, and current affairs, complementing students’ Social Studies education. The NCCE, she said, would also organise community sensitisation programmes and reconstitute civic clubs in schools to further promote constitutional awareness.
Assembly Member for Amamorley Electoral Area, Mr Raymond Tetteh Commey, commended the NCCE for the initiative, urging students to take their civic responsibilities seriously and avoid unlawful conduct. He further appealed to the Commission to simplify the Constitution in local languages to reach non-literate citizens. Miss Beatrice Sagoe, a Form Three student of the winning school, said the competition broadened her understanding of the Constitution.
