The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has taken action against Samuel Paa Kwesi Fabin, Head Coach of Aduana Stars, for alleged misconduct following comments made against match officials during the team's match against Kotoku Royals in the matchday 29 clash.
In a post-match interview, the coach expressed his disappointment with the referee's performance, saying, “I'm highly disappointed in the referee's performance in the second half, every tackle was a foul against us, is that how we want a worthy champion in the league? It is very bad.”
The GFA, in a press statement, condemned the comments and accused the coach of undermining the fairness of the premier league and attacking the integrity of the referee.
The statement read, “These remarks are alleged to have undermined the fairness of the premier league and constituted an attack on the referee's integrity, actions that have the potential to harm the reputation of the game.”
The statement also revealed that the coach had until Thursday, May 4, 2023, to respond to the charges laid against him.
