Two women who allegedly made offensive and abusive remarks against President John Dramani Mahama following the August 6 helicopter crash broke down in tears as they appeared before the Adenta Circuit Court 1 for the second time.
The accused, Priscilla Duah Birago, a 29-year-old National Service Person, and Charity Dede Tetteh, a 29-year-old beautician, have both pleaded not guilty to charges of conspiracy to commit a crime and offensive conduct likely to breach the peace.

The prosecution told the court, presided over by Mrs Angela Attachie, that the two hosted a live discussion on TikTok where they said, “We would have been happier if the President, His Excellency John Dramani Mahama, was involved in the helicopter crash and dwarfs had eaten him up, and that a lot of people are dying under his tenure of office.”
Prosecutors said Charity later disseminated the offensive remarks through her TikTok account, “Abena Birago.” A forensic capture of the livestream has been obtained as evidence.
Chief Inspector Maxwell Lanyo opposed bail, noting that investigations were ongoing and that the police had applied to the High Court for access to the accused persons’ mobile phones to retrieve the videos.
However, Defence Counsel Samuel Kwesi Agyei argued that the women had already spent days in custody, learnt lessons, and would not interfere with investigations as their phones were with the police. He pleaded for bail, insisting prosecution appeared not ready to conclude its inquiries.
The court remanded the accused persons into custody to reappear on Thursday, September 4, 2025.
