The Centre for Culture and Sustainable Development (CCSD), a community-based organisation, has held a comprehensive health screening for residents of the Gbi-Kpoeta community in the Volta Region. The exercise, organised in collaboration with Live Pure Health in Accra, covered various conditions including blood pressure, sugar levels, malaria, typhoid, prostate, liver and kidney diseases, as well as eye tests.
Togbe Adom Dake X, President of CCSD, said the initiative aligns with the organisation’s mission to promote culture, sustainable development, environmental conservation, and youth empowerment. He explained that the health screening aimed to both educate and assist the community in managing their health challenges, stressing that without good health, residents would struggle with their daily routines.

Dr John Afedzi, a nutritionist with Live Pure Health, highlighted that many illnesses, such as hypertension and diabetes, stem from poor dietary habits, irregular meal times, and excessive alcohol intake. He underscored the importance of regular health checks and urged strict adherence to medical prescriptions.
Mama Dakesi IV, Vice President of CCSD, added that environmental cleanliness is equally essential to good health, urging community members to prioritise sanitation. Some beneficiaries expressed gratitude to CCSD for organising the life-saving initiative and pledged to take their health more seriously.
