The General Superintendent of Assemblies of God, Ghana, Rev Stephen Wengam, led the church‘s Executive Presbytery on a courtesy visit to IGP Christian Tetteh Yohuno at the Police Headquarters in Accra, focusing on cooperation to ensure the security of citizens and the state.
During the meeting, Rev Wengam commended the IGP for his reforms aimed at transforming the Ghana Police Service into an institution of excellence and praised officers for their dedication, while condemning recent attacks on police personnel by some recalcitrant citizens.

The General Superintendent briefed the IGP on the global growth of the Assemblies of God, noting that the church now has 89.9 million members worldwide, making it the largest Protestant church globally. He revealed that Ghana has been chosen to host the church’s 2026 World Congress from October 12 to 14, marking the first time the event will be held in Africa.
Rev Wengam requested the Ghana Police Service’s support in providing security for international participants, highlighting the expected economic benefits for Ghana. The delegation also prayed for the IGP and presented him and his directorate with a Bible and leadership books. In appreciation, the IGP presented a commemorative plaque to Rev Wengam to mark the visit.
