Police arrest four Ada SHTS students over viral cutlass video

The Ghana Police Service has arrested four students of Ada Senior High Technical School following a viral video showing a student wielding a cutlass and threatening other students on campus.

The statement, signed by ASP Dede Dzakpasu, Head of Public Affairs for the Tema Regional Police Command, said the incident came to the attention of the Police at about 12:10 a.m. on May 22, 2026, after the video surfaced online.

Police said a night patrol team was immediately dispatched to the school to intervene.

With assistance from school authorities, the Police arrested Raymond Gyamfi, 18, Oscar Amemoair, 18, Odartey Wilson, 18, and one juvenile who were identified in the video.

The suspects are currently in police custody, assisting with investigations.

The Police advised students to resolve disagreements peacefully through established school structures and avoid violence and intimidation.

The Command also urged parents and school authorities to strengthen guidance, supervision and discipline among students to maintain safety and order in schools.

Police said investigations are ongoing and further developments will be communicated later.
