PROFILE: Abena Osei-Asare

Hon. Abena Osei-Asare is the Member of Parliament for Atiwa East, representing the New Patriotic Party (NPP). Born on January 16, 1979, she hails from Anyinam and is a Christian. She has served in Ghana’s 6th, 7th, and 8th Parliaments.

She holds a Master of Science degree (2014) and a Bachelor of Arts degree (2003) from the University of Ghana. She is also a Chartered Accountant, certified by the Institute of Chartered Accountants Ghana (2020), and a member of the Association of Certified Chartered Accountants (ACCA) (2005). Her early education includes Wesley Girls‘ High School and Achimota Primary School.

Hon. Osei-Asare has built a career in finance and governance. She previously worked as an Assistant Director at New York University in Ghana and served as a Customer Team Leader and Dealer at Barclays Bank Ghana (now Absa). In government, she has held key positions, including Deputy Minister of Finance and Minister of State.
