The draw for the African Games Football Tournaments has taken place, revealing challenging opponents for host nation Ghana in both the men's and women's competitions.
In the men's tournament, the Black Satellites of Ghana have been drawn into Group A alongside Benin, Congo, and The Gambia. Group B features Nigeria, South Sudan, Senegal, Uganda, and Tunisia. All eight teams in the men's competition secured qualification by reaching the quarterfinals of the 2023 TotalEnergies U-20 AFCON held in Egypt.
For the women's tournament, Ghana's Black Princesses find themselves in Group A, where they will face Tanzania, Uganda, and Ethiopia. Group B includes Nigeria, Morocco, Senegal, and Cameroon.
The African Games, scheduled to take place from March 8 to March 23, 2024, will see over 3500 elite athletes from 54 countries competing in various sporting disciplines.
