The Criminal Investigations Department has arrested Wendell Nana Yaw Yeboah following a petition by three regional ministers accusing him of spreading false and damaging allegations related to illegal mining activities.
A police statement released on Wednesday, November 26, said the petition was filed by Daniel Sasu Omari and two others on behalf of the Ashanti, Eastern and Western Regional Ministers.

The petition called for a full probe into claims allegedly made by the suspect.
CID operatives acted swiftly after receiving the request, leading to Yeboah’s arrest. He is currently in police custody and assisting investigators with the case.
According to the statement, signed by Chief Inspector Brigitte Babanawo of the CID Public Relations Unit, the suspect is expected to be arraigned on Thursday, November 27, 2025.
The police assured the public that the investigation would be carried out strictly in line with legal procedures.
