Police declare suspect wanted for alleged fraud

ACCRA, 30 April 2026 – The Criminal Investigation Department of the Ghana Police Service has declared a suspect wanted following a warrant issued by the Adabraka District Court.

The court issued a warrant number 161/2025 dated 9 September 2025 for the arrest of Harrison Nii Otoo, also known as “Land dealer,” for defrauding by false pretences contrary to Section 131(A)(1) of the Criminal Offences Act 29/60.

The suspect is alleged to have purchased two unregistered Range Rover vehicles valued at 115,000 United States dollars from a complainant and issued four Fidelity Bank cheques with face values of GH¢200,000, GH¢5,000, GH¢5,000 and GH¢200,000 as payment. All the cheques were returned due to insufficient funds.

Police said efforts to trace the suspect have been unsuccessful.

Harrison Nii Otoo is described as 50 years old, dark in complexion, about 5 feet 10 inches tall, of average height and weight, and a native of Kpone Katamanso. He is suspected of hiding in Tema, Prampram and Nungua.

The Police have urged anyone with information on his whereabouts to contact the Financial Forensics Unit of the CID on 0543352597 or 0244850438.
