Preliminary investigations indicate that the suspects were part of an armed robbery gang operating in the Upper East and North East Regions, allegedly using AK-47 rifles and pistols to rob victims of cash, motorbikes and mobile phones. Some incidents reportedly resulted in deaths.

During interrogation, the suspects admitted involvement in several robberies and identified the alleged gang leader as Issaka, with another accomplice named Araafat, both currently at large.

Police say efforts are ongoing to arrest the remaining suspects and individuals believed to be supplying the gang with weapons.

The suspects remain in custody assisting investigations, while police continue to recover stolen items and trace other accomplices.
