Her Ladyship Justice Gertrude Torkornoo, the Chief Justice, has appealed to citizens to uphold the law and refrain from engaging in corrupt practices.
Speaking at a National Thanksgiving Service organized by Aglow International in Accra on Saturday, Justice Torkornoo emphasized the importance of obedience to laws for the well-being of the nation.
“My humble appeal is that we all begin to make up our minds to obey laws. Where we have been told, ‘don't build, don't pass there, don't farm there, don't do galamsey.' For the sake of our children, national, and well-being, let us ensure that we don't do it,” she urged.
Aglow International is a network of caring and praying women dedicated to promoting the welfare and caring of women and teenage girls.
Justice Torkornoo highlighted that acts of exploitation among citizens could project Ghanaians as an exploitative people. Quoting from Isaiah 61 and Luke 4:14-21, she encouraged everyone to be ambassadors for nation-building and extend blessings to others.
During the National Thanksgiving Service, the Chief Justice expressed gratitude to God for His preservation despite the challenges and disasters the country faced.
She called on Ghanaians to dedicate themselves to prayer and intercede for all arms of government to fulfill their mandates as expected.
Prayers were offered for the nation, seeking divine protection from all forms of evil and calamities. Gospel musician MOG led the congregation in a heartfelt time of praise and thanksgiving to God.
