Centrepoint Supply Chain Solutions Limited has demonstrated its commitment to education by donating 5,000 exercise books to pupils of the Kpone Methodist Basic ‘A' School in the Kpone-Katamanso Municipality.
These exercise books, bearing the school's name, are intended to assist pupils whose parents face challenges in procuring the necessary educational materials.
Mr. Felix Yaw Bani, the Chief Executive Officer of Centrepoint Supply Chain Solutions Limited, emphasized the significance of this donation as the company's first corporate social responsibility initiative since its establishment as a wholly Ghanaian-owned company in 2019.
Located in the Free Zones enclave, Centrepoint has approximately 60 percent of its employees residing within Kpone. This local connection motivated the company to support the school and initiate a lasting relationship.
The presentation of exercise books aims to ensure that pupils have ample resources for homework and assignments, encouraging them to excel in their studies for a brighter future.
Centrepoint plans to expand this charitable gesture, making it an annual commitment. Additionally, they intend to organize a mentoring program for the pupils every quarter of the year, providing continuous support to keep them focused on their education and career aspirations.
During the donation event, Mr. Bani imparted valuable advice to the pupils. He urged them not to let their backgrounds hinder their progress and cautioned girls against being misled by boys and men. Simultaneously, he reminded boys to uphold moral values.
Mr. Ernest Noye, Chairman of the School Management Committee, and Madam Juliana Sarpong Asante, Head Teacher of Kpone Methodist ‘A' School, expressed their heartfelt gratitude to Centrepoint for this generous contribution.
They reiterated the significance of the exercise books in enhancing the pupils' educational experiences.
