Dr Freda Prempeh, the Member of Parliament (MP) for Tano North Constituency and the Minister of Sanitation and Water Resources, has donated 30 brand new motorbikes to the New Patriotic Party (NPP) constituency office.
These motorbikes are intended for distribution among the 25 NPP Electoral Area Coordinators in the constituency to enhance their efforts in the upcoming 2024 election campaign.
The aim of providing these motorbikes is to empower the coordinators to reach out to residents in hard-to-reach communities, allowing them to communicate the achievements of the MP and the NPP, as well as to canvass votes to secure political power in the next general election.
Dr Prempeh presented the motorbikes during the Tano North Polling Station Chairmen and Coordinators Conference, which was held at Koforidua near Duayaw-Nkwanta in the Ahafo Region.
The conference, with the theme “Strategise to adopt in breaking the eight,” is an annual event organized by the MP's office.
The event was attended by 122 polling station chairmen and 25 Electoral Area Coordinators from the constituency, coming together to identify, discuss, and address emerging challenges faced by the party in the constituency.
Dr. Prempeh highlighted the significance of constituencies as the strong pillars of the NPP and stressed the importance of resourcing coordinators and polling station executives to energize the party at the grassroots level.
As the 2024 general election approaches, Dr Prempeh expressed her dedication and commitment to making the NPP and the government more attractive and popular within the constituency.
She emphasized the need for a strong government-party relationship to effectively communicate government achievements, policies, and programs.
The MP also pointed out that various communities in the Tano North constituency had benefited from development projects, including improvements in drinking water supply, rural electrification, healthcare infrastructure, and educational facilities.
Dr. Prempeh highlighted her efforts, including the construction of 115 mechanized boreholes, 11 Community-based Health Planning Service (CHPS) compounds, and infrastructure improvements.
She called upon polling station chairmen and electoral area coordinators to maintain a respectful and issue-based campaign, emphasizing the work accomplished by both herself and the government within the constituency.
Mr Janamah Biiyien, the Second Vice Chairman of the NPP in the Tano North constituency, received the motorbikes and expressed appreciation to the MP, acknowledging her loyalty as a contributing factor to the NPP's popularity.
During an open forum, many of the polling station chairmen and electoral area coordinators commended Dr Prempeh for her hard work and pledged to do their best to ensure her retention in the constituency primaries and secure the parliamentary seat in the 2024 election.
