Mrs Amoah made these remarks in an interview with the (GNA) following a courtesy visit by the (PURC). During the visit, the PURC presented a cheque of GH¢4,116.00 to support the Students' Representative Council (SRC) of the College in . The donation was in response to a request made by the SRC during an educational tour organized by the PURC on tariffs and utility usage.

Expressing gratitude for the educational program initiated by the PURC, Mrs. Amoah noted its positive impact on students' responsible utility usage. However, she highlighted persistently high electricity bills ranging from GH¢24,000 to GH¢48,000 monthly due to student misuse of electricity.

Mr. David Ohene Appiah, SRC President, underscored efforts to address electricity misuse, mentioning collaboration with college security personnel to monitor classrooms and hostels. Their aim is to ensure the timely shutdown of unused electrical appliances to conserve power.

The appeal from the College of Nursing and Midwifery underscores the urgent need for additional infrastructure to support its burgeoning student population, highlighting the importance of community support in addressing educational challenges.
