The President of Malta, Dr. George William Vella, has embarked on a three-day state visit to Ghana, aiming to strengthen cooperation and bolster ties between the two nations.
Accompanied by his wife, Miriam, and a delegation comprising public servants and private sector representatives, President Vella's visit seeks to foster closer bilateral and trade relations.
Upon arrival at Kotoka International Airport's Jubilee Lounge on Thursday evening, President Vella was welcomed by Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia and other government officials.
The itinerary includes a bilateral meeting with President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo at the Jubilee House on Friday, followed by a joint press conference and a state banquet hosted in his honour.
Additionally, President Vella is scheduled to visit the Manhyia Palace in Kumasi to meet with Otumfuo Osei Tutu II.
In Kumasi, President Vella and his wife will visit the HopeXchange Medical Centre, established by a Maltese non-governmental organization, highlighting the collaborative efforts in the health sector between Malta and Ghana.
The state visit underscores the commitment of both countries to deepen cooperation across various sectors, paving the way for enhanced partnerships and mutual benefits.
President Vella is expected to conclude his visit and depart from Ghana on Sunday, marking the end of his diplomatic mission aimed at strengthening ties between Malta and Ghana.
