Dagliga Primary School renovated following GNA report on deplorable state: Ghana News

The Dagliga Primary School in the Nabdam District of the Upper East Region has undergone significant renovations after a report by the Ghana News Agency (GNA) highlighted the deplorable state of the school.

The school, previously in a state of disrepair with issues ranging from cracked walls to removed windows and doors, has now been revitalized.

The Nabdam District Assembly, under the Gulf of Guinea Northern Regions Social Cohesion (SOCO) project, spearheaded the renovation efforts.

Besides the school’s refurbishment, the Assembly has initiated road construction projects connecting communities like Logre and Zanlerigu to the school and surrounding educational institutions.

The GNA report on February 15, 2023, drew attention to the hazardous conditions at the school, endangering both teachers and students.

Subsequent coverage on March 9, 2023, revealed how illegal mining activities had damaged the school’s football field and footpaths.

Mr. Roger Atidoor, the Headteacher of Dagliga Primary School, expressed gratitude to the Nabdam District Assembly and SOCO project managers for their prompt action.

He specifically acknowledged the impactful reportage by GNA that spurred the renovation initiative.

“We are grateful to you for the impactful reports,” Mr. Atidoor stated, emphasizing the commendable efforts of Madam Agnes Anamoo, the District Chief Executive.

He also appealed for the construction of a kitchen structure to facilitate student meals, as the existing mud structure was demolished to make way for road construction.

Mr. Maxwell Divom, the Assemblyman of the Zanlerigu Dagliga Electoral Area, highlighted the positive impact of the school’s renovation on students and teachers.

He expressed gratitude to GNA, the Nabdam District Assembly, and the government for their collective efforts in transforming the educational environment.
