The National Service Scheme (NSS) management announced in a press release dated Thursday, December 7, 2023, that the government has released funds for the payment of arrears on allowances for National Service Personnel (NSP) who have recently completed their one-year mandatory national service.
The arrears cover the period from January 2023 to May 2023.
The management assured NSP that the arrears would be disbursed by the close of Friday, December 8, 2023.
Additionally, the press release stated that arrears for June 2023 and allowances for October 2023 would also be paid subsequently.
The Executive Director of the NSS, Osei Assibey Antwi, expressed gratitude to service personnel for their patience regarding the delayed payment of allowances.
He assured them that every effort was being made to ensure the prompt disbursement of the remaining allowances.
The press release concluded with a brief thank you message: “Management wishes to commend service personnel for their patience regarding the delayed payment of these allowances and wishes to assure them that everything possible is being done to have the rest of their allowances duly paid to them.”
