Fred Nuamah, who recently withdrew from the National Democratic Congress (NDC) parliamentary race for Ayawaso West Wuogon, has disclosed that he has been appointed as a member of John Mahama's national campaign team for the 2024 elections.
Speaking in a radio interview with Accra-based Adom FM on Tuesday [August 8, 2023], Nuamah explained that his decision to withdraw from the contest against John Dumelo was influenced by his appointment to Mahama's campaign team.
He stated that he believes his contribution to Mahama's campaign is in the best interest of the NDC and the country's development.
In his withdrawal letter, Nuamah emphasized the importance of a united NDC front for the upcoming 2024 general elections. He highlighted his dedication to the party's unity and President John Mahama's efforts to bring positive change to the nation.
Nuamah also clarified that his decision was not due to any coercion but rather his genuine belief that working on Mahama's campaign team would allow him to contribute more effectively to the party's goals.
“I believe working on Mahama's team is far better,” he added.
