Dr Hafiz Bin Salih, the Upper West Regional Minister, has offered guidance to Mr Mohamud Forkah, the newly appointed District Chief Executive (DCE) for the Sissala West District. During a swearing-in ceremony in Wa, Dr. Salih emphasized the importance of running an open-door administration and being receptive to diverse perspectives.
The Regional Minister encouraged Mr Forkah to adhere to due process in all his dealings and to collaborate closely with the District Coordinating Director and other technocrats. Dr Salih stressed the significance of building strong relationships with assembly members, traditional authorities, community members, and various stakeholders to foster development in the district.
Furthermore, Dr. Salih reminded Mr. Forkah of the legal frameworks governing local governance, including the Local Government Act, Public Procurement Act, and Public Financial Management Act. He highlighted the constitutional mandate of a DCE, which encompasses overseeing administrative functions, representing the central government, and addressing key issues such as security, economic development, and sanitation.
In his response, Mr. Forkah expressed gratitude for the opportunity to serve and pledged to lead with integrity and transparency. He thanked President Akufo-Addo for the nomination and affirmed his commitment to working collaboratively with stakeholders to address the district's challenges and promote development.
Mr. Forkah's inauguration marks the beginning of a new chapter for the Sissala West District, with expectations of effective leadership and concerted efforts towards community advancement.
