Two drivers have been left in comas after a collision occurred between their vehicles on Tuesday evening. The incident transpired as a Hyundai Elantra private vehicle, registered as GS 8091-18, attempted to join the road after discharging a passenger at the Second Bus Stop in Krispol City.

The private vehicle collided with a mini passenger van bearing registration number GR 950-16.

The collision, which occurred at high speed, resulted in significant damage to both vehicles, causing various parts to detach. Both drivers sustained severe injuries and slipped into comas as a result of the impact.

Immediate bystanders acted swiftly to rescue the drivers from the wreckage, and they were promptly transported to the Mother and Child Hospital in for treatment.

Although the mini-passenger van carried elementary school pupils, none of the students sustained apparent injuries.

Eyewitnesses interviewed by Citi revealed that local residents had repeatedly voiced concerns about the surge in accidents along this portion of the road. Just last week, a tragic incident took place when a student crossing the road was fatally struck by a vehicle.

Local residents attribute these recurring accidents to malfunctioning traffic lights and drivers neglecting road signs. As a remedy, they are urging authorities to implement speed reduction measures on this stretch to enhance road safety.

  1. The roads are just too bad these days. I personally saw exposed iron reinforcement in the concrete used for the road at Amasaman. How can every single rod in Ghana be full of potholes. Lets not talk about streetlights. Even the streetlights on the Ablekuma-Pokuase highway are falling apart
