During the launch of the 50th anniversary of the Ghana Adventist Choir Union (GACU) of the Seventh Day Adventist Church (SDA) in Sunyani on Saturday, Professor Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang, the National Democratic Congress's (NDC) running mate for the 2024 Election, emphasized the importance of tolerance in ensuring a peaceful and successful general election.
Addressing the audience, Prof Opoku-Agyemang urged Ghanaians to embrace tolerance and respect each other's views as the country gears up for the 2024 election. She emphasized that everyone has inherent talents and skills that contribute to national development, and tolerance is essential for fostering unity and progress.
Highlighting the significance of music, Prof Opoku-Agyemang praised the SDA choir for their exceptional contributions to the music industry and emphasized the role of sacred music in promoting peace and harmony in society.
In support of the event, hundreds of NDC members and supporters from the Bono, Bono East, and Ahafo Regions warmly welcomed Prof Opoku-Agyemang to Sunyani. She was accompanied by national party executives, NDC Members of Parliament, former ministers of state, and ambassadors.
Mr. Johnson Asiedu-Nketiah, the National Chairman of the NDC, presented GH¢ 20,000 on behalf of the party to support the launch of the anniversary, demonstrating the party's commitment to fostering cultural and artistic endeavours in the country.
